List of Venues in Bangkok

I am a list freak. I have a list for anything... you name it! ;)
This post covers some venues I found while searching information about Bangkok - my future holiday destination. I do not want to describe the monuments since there are many articles already online but focus more on food, shopping and accommodation.

I am a foodie thus I am highly interested in places such as cafes, restaurants and street markets. So let's start with these venues.
  • Make Me Mango - sticky rice
  • Mango Tango - sticky rice
  • China Town - street food
  • Baan Ying: Coffee and Meal
  • Siam Paragon - in the shopping mall
  • Bitterman
  • Rocket Coffee Bar
  • Luka Cafe
  • The House of Sathorn
  • Karmakamet Diner - trendy
  • Peace and Oriental Teahouse
  • (un) Fashion Cafe
  • Sirocco - expensive

Bangkok is famous for the biggest markets with cheap fashion and everything as well as luxurious shopping mall with cars in the windows.
  • Sampeng market - cheap
  • MBK - cheap
  • Siam - shopping mall - note: visit also Discovery part
  • Central World
  • Platinum - cheap
  • Central Embassy - shopping mall
  • K village - cheap
  • Asiatique

Parks and Entertainment

As much as I love cities I like to escape the business and find shelter in the park. Fortunately there are 2 parks close to my hostels.
  • Lumpini Park
  • Benjakitti Park - view at the modern city
  • Naiipa Art Complex - currently under development

Finally, tips for the accommodation. The first night we went in Bangkok we stayed in Lilac, which perfectly covered our needs since we had less than 24 hours to our next flight to Koh Samui. This place is incredible. The staff is very helpful and sweet. The hotel is not the newest however everything was clean. They provide free transfer to the airport and back and even taxi to the nearest subways station. I can highly recommend this hotel for you stay. Breakfast is also very nice.

The other place we are staying in is the GLUR hostel.

For the next visit of Bangkok I want to see one of the floating markets: Amphawa or Damnoen Saduak.
