Beaches in Bali

01:47:00

Bali is famous of the beaches. I had always thought that is paradise for being at endless beaches with white sand. But Bali provided us with different experience: great little beaches hard to find. You will find our recommendation in this post. All are marked in my map here.

Bhukit Peninsula - South

The beaches are very close so you can manage all three in one day but personally I recommend to stay longer at Gunung Beach since it is beautiful.

Green Beach

The first beach we visited late in the afternoon. Only few local people were at the beach. Bring your own food and drinks since the only shop is up (beach is under the cliff).

Gunung Beach

We did not swim because it was rainy but it would be the best beach in the south. If you go there you go through construction since soon a big hotel resort will dominate the surroundings. That time we were there, it was amazing experience. We were the only people at the beach. Also bring your own food and drinks.

Pandawa Beach

This beach is getting more popular and it is becoming a summer spot esp. for local travellers. Thus it keeps still the atmosphere. There are many little bistros or venues where to have snack.

Bhukit Peninsula - West

We visited these two beaches during one day. I would prefer the beaches in the south because their are not so known. However, we took this trip and visited cool places such as Kafein (breakfast), Cashew Tree (lunch) and Cafe Balangan (dinner) what made the day awesome.

Balangan Beach

Rather rocky beach - great place for surfers.

Bingin Beach

Lovely beach but too many people for us. The entrance from the cliff is just amazing!

Gili Air

Oh! This is paradise! The water are very shallow (not good for swim) but you can spend the whole day in the shadow at the beach just, reading, sleeping and chilling. Two-night stay is enough to get the energy back and to continue the trip.

Nusa Ceningan

Our last spot was Nusa Ceningan. I was recommended to go there because of the Le Pirate hotel. We did not expect anything from the beaches but we were very well surprised. The cliffs are not so high but the sea is wild here. Be careful of the streams.

However, we found here the best beach ever - the Secret Beach!

Nusa Lemgonban

The other day we went to Nusa Lembongan by our motorbike. We visited the Dream beach with was nice and Mushroom beach which was very crowded and noise since we went back to the Dream beach. However, the last day we spent at the Secret beach in Nusa Ceningan.

PS: Stay till the evening at the Dream beach and watch the huge waves at the Devil`s Tear. The experience is worthy. Feeling the massive water energy is beautiful and scary in one moment.
