Mae Deli and Other Foodie Tips in London

What I was looking forward to experience in London the most? All foodie possibilities... Especially VEGAN places... Since there are not many in Prague. I had searched for some tips before the trip and created a check list to make them easier to find. :-)

The first place we visited was Portobello Wholefoods Shop where we grabbed only some snacks such as Chocolate Milk and Booja-Booja Chocolate Truffles. OMG! They are the best! And I feel pity I did not take them home. This place is a shop with great offer of vegan and healthy products. Thus it deserves mentioning.

After a short walk around Portobello and Nothing Hill, we settled in Le Pain Quotidien to have dinner. This is a chain of bakeries and little bistros with great menu. We had sandwich with fresh avocado and organic beer.

The most exciting place was however Whole Foods Market close to Piccadilly Circus. It became our favorite hub and we went there several times to buy snacks or have meal. The store is really huge and offers cafe, cafeteria, groceries and also cosmetics and body care.

The loveliest vegan place in London was Mae Deli by Deliciously Ella. It is heaven! We went there in heavy rain but it was worth it. The dish was excellent and the staff was very nice. Although the range is not so wide you can choose different types of bowls - hot, cold / big, small. Everything is vegan and fresh. We were so excited that we sat there for cup of coffee and cake the next day.. Highly recommended visiting. The location is good since it is close to north corner of Hyde Park.

The only restaurant we visited was Busaba Eathai. My friend shared with me this tip (thank you!). The atmosphere is lovely and the food was the best I tasted in London. Their lemon-grass tea was very refreshing.

Green Vegetarian Curry and Spring Rolls

If you are in London, you cannot skip visiting Soho and tasting Asian cuisine. Range is pretty wide. I found Jen Cafe while searching for tips. It is very popular place and we were lucky to get a spot. We were not so hungry but we did not resist to their tradition fried dumplings. Yam!

Once we had fresh juice and green smoothie in Planet Organic but we did not have enough time to explore it more. We also were excited by offer of Pret-At-Manger (many vegan possibilities) or Istu (sushi for great price). These bistros are almost at any corner and it is the quick and easy way to eat healthy.

Energy Booster

Last place on our check list was Farm Girl. Unfortunately, we missed our chance to eat there because opening hours are limited. It is our tip for next time :-)
